After pictures and hugs/kisses, our merry entourage left CUMC about 8am, and our trip to Berkeley Springs was uneventful. We made a rest stop and stopped in Hagerstown for gas and lunch, arriving at Camp Harmison about 1:30 or so. Driving out to camp there was a dark cloud line behind us, and I hoped it would it would pass us by….hahahaha.
We pulled into the lower camp and unloaded the tents and about the time we had the ground-clothes and tents out….the drops started….and continued….and continued…..I’ll let the next few pictures tell the rest of the story.
After 3 failed attempts at putting the tents up, we finally managed to get all the tents up between showers, and get most of the trailer unloaded. We stood around, watched it rain and finally went upstairs for dinner at 5pm.
Hotdogs and baked beans(beans, beans, good for your heart….nevermind), followed by a leader meeting, and eventually a very short vespers service, due to the weather. As I write this we’re all under our pavilion or white tents trying to stay dry. The only saving grace is the temperature is quite comfortable.
Tomorrow(Monday) should be interesting with all the rain today….so we’ll see how much we can get done.
Until next time….God Bless!!
Joel
P.S. Monday morning update…..Sunny and beautiful!!!!!! God is GOOD!!!!
