A – is for the Athey house. Two decks done.
B – is for the 254 Balusters we put on 3 decks and 2 ramps in the last 2 days.
C – is for the Cots we slept on. After a full day of work, they were as beautiful as a downy mattress.
D – is for Dinner at Maria’s Garden, a traditional ending to our camp joy week. A BIG shout out to Peg and the crew, the food gets better every year!!
E – is for Elephants, there are no elephants in Paw Paw. Just sayin’ But “I meant what I said, and I said what I meant, an elephant’s faithful, 100 percent!!”
F – is for the Fellowship we had with each other, the home owners, and the neighbors (aka Schooner…or Scooter(which is what we wrongly called him all week)).
G – is for Goodwill. What would a week at Camp Joy be without a trip to Goodwill??
H – is for a Heart of Worship, we tried to have, and show, throughout the week.
I – is for the Indescribable experience it is to glorify God by building ramps, decks, and relationships.
J – could be for Joel, Janet, Jenna, Joe, or John… but it’s not about us, It’s All About You, Jesus!!!
K – “Kip,” who made a guest appearance at site reports one night with …
L – “LaFonda” (Maybe you had to be there…)
M – is for eating breakfast at 6:00 in the Morning. Some of the youth didn’t realize there was a 6:00 in the morning.
N – is for hundreds, and hundreds of Nails. Those ramps aren’t going anywhere!
O – is for Opossum, there ARE Opossums in Paw Paw, we saw one(squished).
P – is for the Power tools we learned to use. Miter saws, Drills, and Air Nailers… Oh My!!
Q – is for Quiet time, which started the week at 11:00, but seemed to get later and later each night.
R – is for the Road to Paw Paw. It could be half as long, if it was straight.
S – is for the Strikes and Spares they are getting on the bowling lanes. Another end-of-the-week tradition.
T – is for using our Time and our Talents to make thing a little better for our homeowners.
U – is for Underwear, which is starting to get scarce.
V – is for Visiting the Paw Paw tunnel. The largest single structure on the C&O canal.
W – is for the gallons of Water we drank.
X – is for is for Xylophone, Trey can play the Xylophone, but there wasn’t one in the band.
Y – is for Yesterdays web update, wow, did it set the bar high or what???
Z – is for Zero. The number of job sites we left unfinished, the number of trips we made to the hospital.
